Cash Refund 2nd in $100,000 Matt Winn Stakes
Wednesday, May 20, 2009
Cash Refund (Petionville) lived up to the hype in Saturday's feature at Churchill Downs, running 2nd to Capt. Candyman Can by three-quarters of a length in his first start in stakes company.

The $100,000 Matt Winn turned salty days prior with the unexpected entry of Capt. Candyman Can, a three time stakes winner and arguably the best active three year old sprinter in the game.
Despite this Cash Refund went off as the favorite based on the hype surrounding the colt and the mounstrous effort three weeks prior over the Churchill track.
Early, Cash Refund pressed the pace through brutal fractions of 22.7 and 44.9. He made his move around the turn and disposed of the pacesetter while assuming the lead heading into the stretch. Capt. Candyman, who remained 3 lengths off

Cash Refund (Petionville) Receives 110 Beyer Speed Figure
Tuesday, April 28, 2009
Cash Refund (Petionville) has been all the rage recently after his electric effort on opening day at Churchill. The talk has intensified after the Beyer Speed Figure was released for the effort, a massive 110. Its the 5th fastest one turn Beyer of the year, regardless of age and is the fastest one turn figure received by any horse not at Gulfstream. Gulfstream has received a lot of high speed figures this year as Beyer and his staff have had an increasingly hard time pegging accurate figures for races over the track.
The bottom line is the undefeated colt is amongst the fastest horses actively in training.

Margaux Stud recently got the proven stallion Petionville (Seeking the Gold – Vana Turns, by Wavering Monarch) from Crestwood Farm and the timing couldn’t have been better! As you probably know by now, Petionville’s 4-year-old son Two Step Salsa danced into the winner’s circle of the G2 Godolphin Mile at Nad Al Sheba racetrack in Dubai Saturday in very impressive fashion. With a record now of 10-6-2-1 and more than a million in earnings, Two Step Salsa led almost the entire way in the Godolphin Mile and won pretty easily from Gayego – another good horse.
Last year, if you recall, Two Step Salsa led almost the entire way in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and finished 3rd, only 1 ¾ lengths behind Albertus Maximus. From what I’ve read, it appears that he’s going to start nex

Two Step Salsa (Petionville) Wins $1,000,000 Godolphin Mile
Saturday, March 28, 2009
Two Step Salsa (Petionville - Vana Turns, by Wavering Monarch) always looked the winner Saturday morning in the $1,000,000 G2 Godolphin Mile at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai. Breaking from the inside, Two Step Salsa jumped immeadiately to the front while receiving pressure from Don Renato. Turning for home Frankie Dettori asked for the bay colt's run and he promptly opened up on the field by 4 lengths. Second choice, Gayego, provided a late run but was no match for Two Step Salsa, who held him off comfortably by a length.
Two Step Salsa is train by Saeed bin Surour for Godolphin, who privately purchased the colt in November after a second place finish in the G1 Breeders Cup Mile Dirt.
Surour stated that the son of Petionville will be pointed next to the G1 Metropolitan Mile at Belmont Park, May 25th.

Silverton Hill's CLIFFY'S FUTURE (The Cliff's Edge) rolled past the battling pacesetters turning for home and drew off in the lane to capture Saturday's $100,000 Rushaway S. at Turfway Park. Trained by Darrin Miller and ridden by Jesus Castanon, the dark bay colt completed 1 1/16 miles in 1:44 1/5 on the Polytrack.
In the process, Cliffy's Future followed in the hoofsteps of another Silverton Hill runner, Dominican, who won the Rushaway en route to taking the Blue Grass S. (G1) in 2007.
Cliffy's Future dropped back through the opening quarter, as the front-running Ninth Client (Malibu Moon) rattled off the initial split in :24 1/5. A pace battle then ensued, with Sundays Baby Grand (Sunday Break [Jpn]) snaring the lead through a half in :48 2/5, only to surrender the advantage to Fitzaslew (Seattle Fitz [Arg]) through six furlongs in 1:12 3/5.
