Petionville, sire of multiple Grade-1 winner Island Fashion and current G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen hopeful Two Step Salsa, is coming to stand at Margaux Farm.
Currently ranked 23rd on the National Sire list, Petionville (’92 Seeking The Gold) has amassed 25 million in progeny earnings.
“We are excited about Petionville joining our stallion roster” said Gary Hudson, Sales and Marketing Director at Margaux Farm. “We look for three things in stallions; pedigree, conformation and ability and this stallion has all three. Given that and his proven ability to throw the big horse, he should be well received by our clients”
As a racehorse, Petionville started his career with 4 consecutive wins highlighted by his score in the G3 Louisiana Derby. During his 3-year-old career he also reeled off wins in the G2 Ohio Derby and G3 La Jolla Handicap. With a tally of 7 wins from 15 starts and career earnings of $811,905, Petionville proved to be one of the most versatile runners of his era, winning graded stakes on both dirt and turf.
“Petionville’s success as a solid, proven sire of sound, durable racehorses is exactly the type of stallion we look for in our stallion program at Margaux Farm” added Stephen Johnson, Managing Partner of Marguax Farm.
Petionville’s 2009 stud fee is $10,000 and is available for immediate inspection. Breeders interested in the stallion should contact Gary Hudson or Steve Johnson.
