Two Step Salsa (Petionville) Wins $1,000,000 Godolphin Mile

Saturday, March 28, 2009

Two Step Salsa (Petionville - Vana Turns, by Wavering Monarch) always looked the winner Saturday morning in the $1,000,000 G2 Godolphin Mile at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai. Breaking from the inside, Two Step Salsa jumped immeadiately to the front while receiving pressure from Don Renato. Turning for home Frankie Dettori asked for the bay colt's run and he promptly opened up on the field by 4 lengths. Second choice, Gayego, provided a late run but was no match for Two Step Salsa, who held him off comfortably by a length.

Two Step Salsa is train by Saeed bin Surour for Godolphin, who privately purchased the colt in November after a second place finish in the G1 Breeders Cup Mile Dirt.

Surour stated that the son of Petionville will be pointed next to the G1 Metropolitan Mile at Belmont Park, May 25th.
