Our Edge (The Cliffs Edge) wins Coronado's Quest Stakes
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Our Edge went gate to wire on Saturday to win the Coronado's Quest Stakes at Monmouth Park. Trained by Nick Zito and owned by Robert V. Lapenta, the son of The Cliff's Edge went off as the second choice after an impressive 8-length maiden score last out. Our Edge set honest fractions early over the off track and had to withstand a bid from the highly touted Gone Astray, from the Phipps stable.
Our Edge earned a 91 Beyer Speed Figure for the effort. His next start could come in the G3 Long Branch Stakes, which is a traditional prep for the G1 Haskell or a stakes race at Saratoga where he is currently stable with Nick Zito's string.
