Kela's first yearling at public auction sells for $30,000!

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

At the recent Fasig Tipton July Yearling Sale, the first yearling offered at auction by Kela brought an impressive $30,000.

Consigned by Burleson Farm, Hip #304, a bay filly out of the dam Kidnap Katie was purchased by Leprechaun Racing, a group that syndicates its sales purchases to race and-or pinhook the following year.

Offspring by Kela have commanded an impressive amount of attention at public auction thus far. His first crop weanlings averaged three times his stud fee at $22,000 and if the Fasig Titpton sale is any indication, the upcoming Keeneland September Sale should be quite successful for the promising young stallion.

Kela had individuals sell for 44,000, 42,000, 24,000, and 20,000 with the former being the session topper during the Sunday session.
