Margaux Freshening Grad SCALDING scored a commanding 1 1/4 length victory in the G3 Ben Ali Stakes, going 1 1/8 mile on the dirt at Keeneland on April 23.
SCALDING has maintained a faultless 4-for-4 record in 2022 with 2 graded stakes victories. Off after an awkward start, SCALDING stalked the leader before taking command and coming home a comfortable. He completed the 1 1/8 mile distance on the dirt in 1:50.30 under rider Javier Castellano.
Trained by Shug McGaughey, LNJ Foxwoods purchased SCALDING for $400,000 at the 2019 Saratoga Select Yearling Sale from the Bluewater consignment. The son of NYQUIST is campaigned by Grandview Equine, Cheyenne Stable LLC and LNJ Foxwoods. Now a mulitple G3W, he has earnings of $306,150.
