Big Switch Turns It On In Melair S.

Margaux Starting & Training Grad BIG SWITCH returned to her stakes winning form with a 4 1/4 length win in the Melair Stakes, going 1 1/16 miles on the dirt at Santa Anita on May 28.

BIG SWITCH went 2-for-2 as a juvenile in 2021 and finished the year with a stakes win on the Breeder’s Cup undercard. Coming into the race off a three-month layoff, the filly broke quickly and kept pressure on the top two throughout the backstretch before taking command at the seven-sixteenths pole. Jockey Juan Hernandez kept the filly to task and comfortably drew off to victory under steady urging. She completed the 1 1/6 miles in 1:44.87.

Trained by John Sadler, the California-bred MR. BIG filly is bred and owned by longtime horse racing supporter George Krikorian. BIG SWITCH began her early education at Margaux Farm in our breaking and training program before heading west to Santa Anita. She now has earnings of $245,544. heading into her summer campaign.
