Margaux Farm starting and training graduate Moon Medal won first time out in a maiden special weight at Churchill Downs on Saturday, November 29. Trained by Brian Lynch and owned by Jim and Susan Hill, the dark bay daughter of Medaglia d’Oro made a late charge to take the fifth.
Off at odds of 8-1, Moon Medal settled midfield and ran wide down the final stretch to take the field of twelve by a length.
The 2-Year-Old filly was purchased at Keeneland September for $205,000 from Taylor Made Sales Agency. She is the first foal out of Distorted Humor mare, Moonbow, and was bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm.
