Sapphire Kitten, Grand Arch Breeders' Cup Bound

Margaux training graduates Sapphire Kitten and Grand Arch are set to run in the 2015 Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st. Sapphire Kitten, a 2-year-old filly by Kitten’s Joy, will run in the Grade 1 $1,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on Friday, Oct. 30.

After winning her first start at Kentucky Downs in a maiden special weight, Sapphire Kitten ran second to Harominze in her next start at Keeneland in the Grade 3 Jessamine Stakes on Oct. 7. Sapphire Kitten is owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, and is trained by Joe Sharp. Post time for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf is 4:50pm ET.  

6-year-old Grand Arch will make his second start in the Breeders’ Cup Mile on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Keeneland. Coming off a grade 1 win over The Pizza Man at Keeneland in the Shadwell Turf Mile, Grand Arch looks to defend his turf where his career record at the course stands 6-3-3-0. Prior to his victory in the Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), Grand Arch took the Fourstardave H. (G2) at Saratoga. He is owned by Jim and Susan Hill and trained by Brian Lynch. Post time for the $2,000,000 event is 3:30pm ET.
