Avanzare scored his second graded stakes victory in the Grade 2 Arcadia S. at Santa Anita Park on Jan. 31. With veteran jockey Gary Stevens aboard, the bay gelding kicked clear in the stretch to take the one mile turf event by a length and 1/4.
Avanzare's last win came in the Washington Park H. (G3) at Arlington Park on the polytrack. Of his twelve carreer starts Avanzare has hit the board all but once, with a total of 6 wins.
The 5-year-old gelding by Grand Reward is trained by Tom Proctor and owned by Donato Lanni and John Youngblood. He was bred in Kentucky by Snow Lantern Thoroughbreds, and purchased from the Ocala Breeders' Sale Co. 2-year-olds in training sale for $52,000.
