After finishing third in his debut at Gulfstream Park earlier this year, Fancy Sailor showed clear improvement in his return in an $84,000 maiden special weight going one mile on the turf for 3-year-olds. Breaking from the rail, he stalked the early pace before angling wide turning for home. With a determined late run down the stretch, he closed strongly on the outside and got up in the final strides to win by a neck.
