Margaux Moment of the Month: Margaux Farm Exacta in Lexus Raven Run

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Margaux training graduates Lightstream and Malibu Stacy finished 1-2 in the 18th running of the Grade 2 Lexus Raven Run Stakes at Keeneland. It was the second graded stakes win for Lightstream who captured the seven furlong event for three-year-old fillies by 1 1/4 lengths.

Lightstream, a daughter by Harlan’s Holiday, placed second in her previous start at Saratoga in the Grade I Test Stakes. During Keeneland’s spring meet the bay filly captured the Grade II Beaumont Stakes becoming one of only two fillies to win both the Lexus Raven and Beaumont Stakes within the same year.

A $55,000 yearling purchase from the Keeneland September Sale, Lightstream is owned by Up Hill Stable and Head of Plains Partners’. The Brian Lynch trainee was ridden to victory by Julien Leparoux.

Malibu Stacy, a dark bay filly by Tizway, capped off the exacta with a second place finish. In 2016 Malibu Stacy captured an allowance win at Saratoga, and ran second in the Victory Ride S. (G3) at Belmont Park. She is owned by Jim and Susan Hill, and trained by George Weaver.
