After freshening this spring at Margaux Farm, Malibu Stacy took her first start back at the racetrack in an $85,000 maiden special weight at Belmont Park on June 9. It was the first win for the three-year-old daughter of Tizway in her six career starts. After a bad break and stumbling at the start, Malibu Stacy closed down the stretch to beat second place finisher, Malibu Princess, by nearly two lengths. The bay filly is trained by George Weaver and was ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr.
