Margaux Farm training graduate Luster delivered a standout performance on August 15 at Woodbine, powering home to a dominant 7 1/4-length victory in the $1 million King’s Plate.
The three-year-old daughter of Knicks Go entered the 1 1/4-mile Canadian classic as the favorite and delivered emphatically under Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez. After settling just off a quick early pace, Luster traveled comfortably before taking command approaching the top of the stretch. From there, she quickly opened up on the field and crossed the wire well clear in a final time of 2:02.01.
Trained by Josie Carroll for Gainesway Stable and Andrew Rosen, Luster now boasts earnings of $925,939 with five wins and one third from six career starts.
Congratulations to Luster and all of her connections on an outstanding victory in one of Canada’s most prestigious races. Margaux Farm is proud to have played a role in her early development.
