Charmingly Evasive Breaks Maiden at Woodbine

Margaux Farm-raised Charmingly Evasive broke her maiden in impressive fashion on Saturday, August 22, taking a $125,500 maiden special weight at Woodbine.

The 3-year-old filly went straight to the lead under jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson in the six-furlong contest. After setting the pace through an opening quarter of :22.61 and a half-mile in :45.80, Charmingly Evasive responded when asked in the stretch and drew clear to win by 2 3/4 lengths. She stopped the clock in 1:10.50.

Charmingly Evasive was raised as a foal at Margaux Farm. By Charlatan out of the Congrats mare Duchess Dancer, she was bred by Mitchell H. Kursner and races for D. J. Stable LLC and trainer Mark Casse.

It is especially rewarding for the Margaux team to see horses we worked with from such an early stage go on to succeed at the racetrack, and we are proud to have been part of Charmingly Evasive’s journey.

Congratulations to D. J. Stable, Mark Casse and all of her connections on the win!
