Epic Proud Mary Breaks Maiden Impressively at Churchill Downs

Margaux Farm training graduate Epic Proud Mary earned a well-deserved maiden victory on June 13, capturing Race 11 at Churchill Downs with a commanding performance.

The 3-year-old daughter of Into Mischief broke sharply and went straight to the lead in the $120,000 maiden special weight. Never seriously challenged, she opened up in the stretch to score by 4½ lengths while covering six furlongs on the dirt.

Owned by Epic Horses and trained by Brian Lynch, Epic Proud Mary was making the third start of her career. She entered the race off a runner-up finish at Churchill Downs in May and took another step forward to deliver a breakthrough performance.

A $350,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Epic Proud Mary has always carried plenty of promise, and her impressive victory showcased the talent and determination that have been evident throughout her development.

Congratulations to Epic Horses, Brian Lynch, and all of the connections behind Epic Proud Mary.
