Eclatant Captures Grade 2 Chicago Stakes at Churchill Downs

Margaux Farm training graduate Eclatant continued her sensational 2026 campaign on June 20, rallying to win the $300,000 Grade 2 Chicago Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Facing a talented field in Race 9, the 4-year-old daughter of Into Mischief saved ground early before shifting to the five path turning for home. Setting her sights on the new leader in upper stretch, Eclatant steadily wore down her rival and prevailed by a head at the wire, completing seven furlongs on the dirt in determined fashion.

Owned by Stonestreet Stables and trained by Brad Cox, Eclatant has now won all three of her starts in 2026. Returning from an extended layoff dating back to June of last year, she kicked off her season with an allowance victory at Gulfstream Park in February before capturing the Grade 1 Madison Stakes at Keeneland in April.

With her victory in the Chicago Stakes, Eclatant boosted her career earnings to $885,423 and further established herself among the nation's top female sprinters.

Now a perfect 3-for-3 this season, Eclatant has emerged as a leading contender for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, and she will certainly be one to watch as the year progresses.

Congratulations to Stonestreet Stables, Brad Cox, and all of the connections behind this talented filly. Everyone at Margaux Farm is proud to see another training graduate excel on racing's biggest stages.
